Morgan Road

Augusta, GeorgiaMay 24, 20120 Comments

Before a 4 year project to widen the road, the posted speed limit was 45 m.p.h. During construction the speed limit was reduced to 30 m.p.h. Construction was completed in late 2011, however the reduced speed limit remains and the construction zone signs are still up. This will insure that the fines are doubled on this road that connects Tobacco and Deans Bridge Road. Deputies will clock you coming down the two hills that make up a large portion of Morgan Road.

RCSO traffic deputies (cars and motorcycles) often park on the sidewalk in front of the fitness center on 1300 block of Jackson Road clocking traffic traveling north on Jackson Road down the big hill. Speed limit is 35. The hill is so steep that it is easy to coast up to 50 mph without realizing it.

Speed is 35 miles per hour on this road and you see Richmond County deputies at least once a week sitting across from the Acquatic Center or beside a vacant night club further up close to Highland Avenue. Beware!
