Buford, Georgia Speed Traps
McEver Rd.
Driving home from a Mother’s Day picnic near a cement plant the speed limit drops from 55 to 45 for no reason at all for less than a mile and then increases back to 55. Cops sit in a hidden drive along the stretch of road where the speed limit decreases and pull people over there consistently. This is definitely not a public safety issue but a revenue generating location.
Friendship Road
Between Hog Mountain Rd and Spout Springs Rd there is a blind curve where cops always sit and clock people. Going in the direction from Hog Mountain Rd Towards Spout Springs it’s impossible to see the cop til its too late. About 90% of the time I drive this road I see the cop. Almost the only times I don’t see them is when they already have someone pulled over. About 4 years ago this road was expanded from 2 lanes to 6 and they never changed the speed limit from 45 mph. Anyone who’s ever driven this stretch of road knows that 45 mph is almost a crawl for that section, much less a 6 lane road. This stretch of road is a pure revenue generating speed trap and they run it 24/7.
On i85 just past Mall of Georgia exit 120
Just past the Mall of GA exit as the median wall ends there is quite frequently an officer clocking vehicles traveling north-bound.
Satellite Blvd between Highway 20 and Woodward Mill Rd.
Gwinnett PD usually sits in one of the driveways of the warehouses on Satellite Blvd. Posted Speed Limit is 45 but traffic usually goes at 55-60. Very heavy at the end of the month.
Peachtree Industrial N of Hwy 20
Southbound drops to 45 for the section of Peachtree Industrial as you near Hwy 20, and Gwinnett sits there as you top and start down the 1st hill!
Speed limit resumes 55 shortly past Hwy 20.
