Highway 19 and fall line freeway

Butler, GeorgiaJun 01, 20210 Comments

Trap is set up right before the red light going east on the fall line freeway.
They clock your speed right as you come out of the 65 speed zone into the 55 mile speed zone with no time to slow down. They clock you and get you at a much higher speed that is fair. Everyone sees the red light coming up and they slow down but the speed trap( the 55 mile sign ) is setup only 1/2 mile from the light which it should be setup at least 3/4 mile from the light and allow people to slow down once they enter the 55 mile zone. I observed this watching the Butler police action at this site. They set there all the time and just do it over and over.

Just an update on the speed trap in Taylor County near Butler, GA. A traffic light is on a long, open stretch at Tower St. The light is unnecessary and there to catch unwary motorists who fail to slow down quickly enough. The cop hides in the median and the current charge is $138.50 for being charged with speeding.

Hwy 96 through Taylor County

Watch the sheriffs in Taylor County. They will increase the speed higher than you are actually going. If they write tickets that sound unreasonable, question them with the court! I got pulled over several years ago and was charged several bogus charges and would not have known better if I didn’t have to call the P.D. to find out where to get my car out of impound. The lady in the P.D. office helped me and found out that several officers were charging people with tickets that were not correct. (Concealing the identity of a vehicle but transferring tag from one car to another, no insurance for having temporary insurance card..etc) Thank goodness all of mine got dropped.
