Police like to sit at the entrance of the River Ridge at Canton Apartments. When you are coming up (from either way) you do not see him until it is too late. I’ve seen hundreds of people pulled over by the cops who sit there.

Exit I-575 @ 1st of 2 off-ramps (comes out near Bi-Lo & KMart)

Coming off of the ramp the speed limit changes from 65, to 35 in a matter of seconds… I actually got a ticket for going 45 just as I was exiting the ramp… it is nearly impossible & very dangerous to slow so quickly. The ramp is a curved one and I have always used extreme caution when exiting. Why anyone would make this limit drop so quickly is beyond me! I understand slowing but asking anyone to drop 30mph in less than 1/4 mile?! Unreal!

County Sherriff hides in a driveway near the end of a straigt strech of road. If coming around the turn that leads to that stretch a little too quickly they will get you. Mostly there on sunny afternoons.

They give tickets for silly things like turning left out of a rural park for one hour per day when the sign is set back from where you have to stop your car to see the oncoming traffic. It is below the big stop sign in smaller letters which most folks can’t even see if you are paying attention to driving and other cars. They also give tickets at night by hiding at the bottom of a hill on a well traveled but not a major road where the speed drops quickly as you are coming off a hill but can see clearly for quite a distance. They hide in the dark backed up in a driveway so you can’t see them because of night, street lights and other car lights coming at you. The point is they give tickets for going just a few miles over the speed limit even if you know you were not going over the limit because they claim their lazar detector is totally accurate. I know they did not shoot my car, instead a speeding car driving in the other direction yet I got the ticket. (First one in my life, I’m a grandma) They have made the front page of some county community news papers to warn good citizens of their doings. I used to respect the police and appreciate them but in Canton, I have been disappointed to see them try so hard to give out tickets for any slight, and I mean slight, infraction.
