GA 20/Hwy 411
The Georgia State Patrol post is located right along this main stretch in north Cartesville. The cops like to sit in the median of the divided highway, and at night time it is almost impossible to see them until you are right up on them. Just take it easy past the State Patrol post.
Main Street at I-75, exit 288
Due to development in the area, the speed limit on Main Street westbound from I-75 has been dropped to 45mph. This is a four lane road with a turn lane outside of town and it’s very difficult to run 45mph after exiting the freeway doing 75+. CPD frequently has a radar sign stationed at the top of the hill entering town, conditioning drivers to be aware of the speed limit before they start stopping folks. Pay attention!
Interstate 75 southbound mile marker 288
Georgia State Trooper sit there everyday and all times of the day. It’s a 60 zone due to construction. Those guys to their credit are real sharp. Drivers beware!!!!!!!!!
I-75 southbound exit 288
Be warned, if you are stopped at this speed trap. There is no need to argue. This area is patrolled by the Georgia State Patrol and if you are stopped you deserve a citation. Those boys play by the rules. This is a 60 zone due to road construction. Those guys are even professional.
