Chatsworth, Georgia Speed Traps
Intersection of Old Federal Rd N and Lakeview
Next door to the Lakeview Church there’s a place you can’t see going down hill where cops like to hide especially at night
State Highway 411 between State Highway 136 and Chatsworth.
The GSP has several spots they run radar on Highway 411. Most of the time they are parked near one of the bridges and are invisible until it is too late.
Hwy 76 at Murray County and Whitfield county line
On Chatsworth hwy right after you cross the bridge into Murray county coming from dalton their is usually a county or state sitting in the median. normally week days after work when traffic is moving at 65 or more.
North end of Treadwell Road
Treadwell Road is a cut through road connecting Alt 52 Hwy & 76. On the North end of Treadwell Rd
the speed limit changes from 55 to 35, they say because its the city limits. But it’s right before you would normally start slowing down for the red light. The police are usually sitting on the right in the parking lot of a carpet mill. They turn the light on and you pull into the parking lot. Easy !!!
Hayden -Tyler Road near County Recreation Building
One Local or GSP sits on the Apron of the Church lot, the other by the Murray county Recreation building. the Speedlimit is a idiotic 45 MPH when although it’s a country road. A more heavily traveled and busy road- CCC Camr Road is 55. When you leave CCC Camp Rd to get on Hayden Tyler Road, you are in a false sense that the road is the same speed (I will admit the signs are there … Until you get close to the favorite place of the police). The sickening thing is they watch this road like a hawk, yet the locals go blasting down CCC camp road with little to no enforcement until you get to Eton, GA. There have been a few people report that the trooper will pull over the front car for speeding when the fact is a car coming up was the one doing so and tripped the radar. (I am dubious of this claim, but I guess it should be mentioned- the guys are really out for blood!) We live on a road that is along the wilderness. Its highest posting is 40, but for more than a mile – Due to the safety issues – it was suggested and posted at 25. No one enforces it, and they’d make a killing doing so! So someone has a hand in this for reasons other than speeders!
