Darien, Georgia Speed Traps

Local cop standing outside of pick up truck just waves and points as you drive by, then pulls you over. Was told I was doing 85 in a 70. Then the guy tells me that I was doing 90, since that was the number below my speedometer. That “90” is the station number on my satellite radio! He laughed when I told him that and then proceeded to tell me I had the prettiest car he ever seen……
By the way, I was passing a car in the outer lane of traffic when my husband saw this guy just point at my car and side of the road.

Five state police cars hidden behind trees located on the median between north and south bound lanes of traffic on I-95 near mile-marker 60. I was in the left lane behind other vehicles going the same speed when I was selected and pulled over. I was informed that I had been detected going 91 mph in a 70 mph zone. Issued a traffic citation for McIntosh County State Court in the amount of $275.00 plus GA. attorney fees in the amount of 300.00 Case resolved with speed reduced to 74 mph by states attorney. No super-speeder fine, no points. Witnessed one other vehicle stopped southbound and one vehicle stopped in the northbound lane. Officer declined to look at insurance or registration, demanded drivers license and completed ticket citation in under five minutes.

Apparently there is 1 common element in all these stories, cops pulling over drivers and claiming that they are driving at a speed higher than 85mph which is the braking point to get a Super Speeder ticket! Obviously not a coincidence but a profitable business for the Darien Police Department!
While driving under 80mph, the officer claimed I was driving at 86mph. The old story of the rock and the egg, what do you do when an arrogant police officer claims that you were going at a speed you know for sure you were not!

Darien, GA in McIntosh county. This town only in the last few years extended their city limit over mostly marshland for the sole purpose of traffic enforcement on I-95. Note that MM42 to appx MM44 are in Glynn County and Darien police have no problem running their radar out of their juristiction. Send a message to this town and county by boycotting all businesses at exit 49 and in the city of Darien.

THESE ARE NOT SPEED TRAPS, THIS IS THE MCINTOSH COUNTY UNLAWFULLY PULLING MOTORIST OVER ON 95 AND ROUTE 17 MALICIOUSLY EXTORTING MONIES. LYING AND STEALING YOUR MONEY. YOUR INSURANCE RAISES AND YOU ARE LEFT WITH FEES UP TO 1,000.00. I SUGGEST YOU CONTACT THE FBI OF GA AND I BELIVE THEY ARE LOCATED IN BRUNSWICK. IF THIS DOES NOT ADDRESS THE ISSUE CONTACT WASHINGTON FBI. THIS PRACTICE HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS AND I SUGGEST A LAWSUIT BE FILED TO ADDRESS THIS COUNTY AND THEIR EXTORTION PRACTICES. THE ELDERLY HAVE ALSO BEEN TARGETED!!!
