Traveling on I-20 East or West bound

Douglasville, GeorgiaOct 01, 20010 Comments

Since I-20 is the main Interstate used by most of the students at the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, the Douglasville Police hve decided to set up a huge speed trap on Friday late mornings to late afternoons. As you enter D’vile traveing east there are sets of trees in the median’s. There are usually 2 cars in each set of tress. There are 3 sets of trees. As you approach Aubor Place mall there is ususlly a few officers sitting on top of the bridge and I believe once there were at least 5. After you pass Aubor Place Mall there are usually 2 or 3 moped I mean Motorcycle Cops sitting on the off ramp. Your best bet to avoid these traps is to stay in the center lane and go 65mph ( the poasted speed limit)

I wanted the readers to know that Douglasville is not a speedtrap. The hideaway that you speak of just past Post Road is not even in the city limits and the bikes are never behind the trees. Also, the info. is wrong about the number of bikes purchased and the way they were paid for. My best advice is not to speed but if you do only do it at a moderate level. A traffic accident at 80 mph is totally different from an accident at 40mph. Oh, and there are never officers on the Chapel Hill Bridge, only on rare occasions.

Douglasville was 1 of 2 towns to get the $500k federal bonus money. They bought 10 $20k harleys, new mall is built…alot of overhead. There is a hide right past the 65 mph sign heading eastbound on I-20 just past post road. Just after that, before highway 5, the bikes sit behind the last patch of woods and at highway 5 behind the bridge supports. Also after highway 5 when approaching the chapel hill road exit, one sits on the bridge while the other waits on the chapel hill I-20 eastbound entrance to get ya.
