Flowery Branch, Georgia Speed Traps

Sits on the westbound side of Gainesville St and pulls over traffic going above 35MPH.

Hall County Sheriff’s deputy will be sitting at the entrance to the Sherwin Williams Plant. The posted speed limit between Friendship Road and Flowery Branch is 45.

Georgia State Patrol will set up a true speed trap on the overpass of 985 (North or South) at Friendship Road (exit 8). They will have one car at the overpass on top clocking the cars and then typically have 2 to 4 "chase" cars sitting on the on-ramp to catch the violators. It’s not an everyday trap but it does happen about once a month especially around holidays and peak travel times.

Hall Co. officers have within the past 2 mos began to run radar right AT the 985/Friendship Rd. exit on a reg. basis. They will park their cruiser horizontally in front of the exit sign running the radar towards the oncoming northbound traffic lanes. Posted speed is 70 on 985, yet motorists often go over this speed. It is hard to see the them until you come over the hill and your headlights light up the reflective lettering on the side of the cruiser, and likely it is too late.
