Gainesville, Georgia Speed Traps
Brown’s Bridge Road near Lantern Inn Restaurant and Bar
Cops park behind the signs in the parking lot of the Lantern Inn. Anyone who travels Brown’s Bridge Road knows it is an extremely dangerous road. The cops know it too, and after the many recent deaths on 369, it looks like they are enforcing the speed limit. But personally I think this is one time I agree with them!
State Highway 53
SR 53, just east of the double bridges (the S-curve) just inside the city of Gainesville. City police (usually black cars) on hidden road or at turnaround. Speed limit is 45 but traffic flows at 60 so watch out.
Interstate 985 near Mile Marker 17
Just before MM 16 & 17 southbound, there is usually a cop sitting in the grass on the right side of the road late on the weekends. He usually has his lights off and is waiting to catch someone. The speed limit is 70, so be careful!
State Route 129 near Limestone Parkway
Georgia Hwy. 129 from the intersection of Limestone Pkwy to
The intersection of Jim Hood Rd. There is a highwqay patrol station near the south end of this strip and the troopers hang around before ending their shift an pick up a few extra victims. In the A.M. the city police sit on the hill at he south end of this strip of 129 and "shoot" downhill.
Queen City Parkway
I don’t know where this guy came from, but he got me..HE was a city cop.. People tell me that the area around the Gainesville airport is a popular spot for the Gainesville Police.
