Hahira, Georgia Speed Traps
The CITY Police of Hahira Georgia use their one exit on I-75 in South Georgia to their fullest Advantage.
New Years Eve 2018
I was hit by the radar gun out of three lanes of North Bound I-75 traffic. I was in excess of the speed limit, yes; however, being one of many cars pacing one another, I felt that the Sarge could have focused his time on dangerous lane changers and excessively fast driving law breakers.
I Just happened to be driving the car that was chosen as the sacrifice in that moment. I Found it funny as I pulled over directly behind the second squad car from Hahira collecting from another victim. How many Officers do they have dedicated to Traffic enforcement on the Interstate versus the City to whom they serve.
The local Hahira Police have “new fangled” type of laser radar system where they hang out at the overpasses with one pulling the trigger and the other one pulling you over. I have no idea if this is legal however they clocked me going 88 in a 70. I switched over from Waze APP to Pandora to change my music for one minute thus my demise. Best advice is to not speed in Georgia.
Local Hahira police will begin to patrol this stretch of interstate looking for speeders even though the interstate does not go through the town or directly borders the town.
Placement between 45 and 55 limit signs, past small downtown area.
Nothing better for police to do in this small town. The police are mainly looking for seatbelt usage, but will stop you 5mph over. Limit drops from 45 to 35 just prior to this area.
