Harlem, Georgia Speed Traps
Harlem-Grovetown Road
The Speed trap is on the Harlem-Grovetown Road going between Harlem and Grovetown. The city of Harlem police are desperate and have given many speeding tickets there!
State Highway 78/278 near City limits of Harlem
From one city limit sign to the next city limit sign on State Highway 78/278. City police parked and waiting on side of road, usually in a store’s parking lot.
Fairview Drive, Going towards 221 away from the Elementary school about 1-2 miles
They sit at the City limit sign, the speed changes to 45 from 55. I was doing 60 and pulled me over, thanks for me i knew the cop. Watch out this is a Night stop and on a curve so you wont see him till its too late and hes busted you.
Hwy. 278/Gordon Hwy.
Especially at night, but I have seen them during the day, a city cop will sit facing west bound going toward Dearing where the 4 lanes turn into 2 lanes. I have been blue lighted (but not ticketed) for going 50 in this 45 mph area. I’ve seen them sitting on both sides of the road and at night they will sit there with no lights on at all. Be careful.
Hwy. 78/Gordon Hwy.
Going east bound toward Augusta, on the outskirts of the city limit almost always sits a city cop on the left hand side of the road facing west bound. The speed limit is 35 on this 4 lane(!) road. GO THE SPEED LIMIT. At night they will sit there with their lights off and you will never see them till the blue lights are on you. These cops love to write tickets.
