Jonesboro, Georgia Speed Traps
State Route 138 East near County Trunk 138
On 138 Eastbound, coming out of Stockbridge into Jonesboro, the road turns left 90 degrees. That’s not the scary part. If you want to get into downtown Jonesboro, go straight but watch out! The speed limit goes from 45 to 35, then to school zone 25 MPH in about 200 feet. They will get you! BEWARE..
State Highway 19/41 near Morrow Industrial Boulevard
on 19/41 tara blvd, watch for them at the mobile home builder areas and in the center median at the hills. Usually south of Morrow Industrial blvd and north of the racetrack. Barney Fife isn’t to nice either.
I-75, Holiday
As you travel this road, the speed limit will continue to change with out warning. Keep you eye’s open, this is a training area for the police (rookie). They sit on the side over the hills where the speed changes, knowing you have no notice of the change. Some changes are covered and some are not, so just watch the road.
I-75 , past the Old Dixie exit
As you pass the Old Dixie exit you will start coming into 6 lanes and right before it turns into 6 lanes there is a median where they like to sit and clock your speed. i got caught with Laser. Usually it is a Clayton County Police Officer. you are about 5 miles from Atlanta City limits. Be careful they will give you a ticket.
E. Stockbridge Rd
I go to work at 5 a.m. M-F. The Jonesboro Police Dept. has a patrol car posted in the parking lot across from Ingles or in front of J.W. Arnold Elementary School nearly every morning. The speed limit changes from 45 to 35 m.p.h. right before Ingles as you’re coming down a hill (going west).
