Kennesaw, Georgia Speed Traps
Jiles Road and Baker Road
As soon as you turn off of Wade Green onto Jiles, until you cross over Baker Road. This area is full of driveways with barriers that hide them and they are always here during rush hours. There is a short road to the left of Baker Rd and they are often there with lights on and writing tickets. Just because there’s a wider road there, the speed is the same. Everyone, watch all those driveways and entrances! The several years of construction has made it even easier to hide.
Southbound On Ramp for I-575 (Exit 4).
There’s a fake camera van that sits on the on-ramp for I-575. (When you get off of Bells Ferry to get onto I-575 southbound). This dirty trick is used by Fairfax County in Virginia all the time. You best indicator is cones that funnel you in (so you are in perfect view of the camera).
Baker Rd and Moon Station
Police sit at the bottom of the hill from Baker Elemtary School especially during the 25 MPH period of the day and catch people rounding the curve going past Baker school and starting down the hill.
Wade Green Road at Wooten Lake/Booth Road
This is a new one.. Kennesaw City’s finest was camping at the abandoned gas station at the intersection above. They usually sit in front of the Choi Kwon Do place which is on the city limit line tracking people as they exit city limits.
Apparently if you look at their new maps (old ones are taken off now), they annexed the part of Wade Green Road up to that intersection, so ‘Mr. Happy Trigger’ was camping outside his jurisdiction today even if we use the NEW maps as he was on the other side of the intersection. They are really pushing it lately. Only the road is “city,” everything outside of it isn’t. Technically he was illegally operating the trap.
Beware of these vultures and do your research if they get you for something.
Wooten Lake Rd Heading North 100 Yards before Wade Green Rd.
Motorcycle cops sit in the driveway of a fairly new 2-story (3 separate buildings) office complex (used to be Marietta Nursery) and use radar guns to catch people exceeding 35mph. The cars they’re after are heading north on Wooten Lake Road just before the intersection of Wooten Lake Road and Wade Green Road.
