As you are headed West toward Lawrenceville from the Mall between old Peachtree rd and Azalia Rd. Cops sit at the trucking yard and shoot up the hill. Speed limit is 50 but you can easily get up to 70 coming down the hill. They write a lot of tickets there.

State Highway 29 near Gwinnett Drive

This is a speed trap and as a mom I understand the need to slow down in a school zone. But this school zone is completely exploited by the local police as a revenue maker. The speed limits on this road go from 35miles to 25 mileswhen flashing(meaning you are entering a school zone) with a 45miles per hour sign on the side of the road at what would apear to mark the end of the school zone. Since it is my experience in this town that usually marks the end of the zone and has a sign posted under the speed limit stating so. An officer on a motorcycly usually parks on a residential road that opens onto hwy 29 that can be slightly hidden by the overgrown canopy of oaks, Magnolias, Snowball Bushes and azaleas. The real kicker hear is you know that school got out at 2:00 and can’t understand why the flashing light is on for 45minutes to an hour after school is over and why arent the police officers at the corner helping the students leave the building and cross the road safely (maybe because there arent any students there and they have already gone home). Secondly why is the school zone marked on hwy 29 when the students and faculty leave the building on Gwinnett Drive. The hwy 29 exit is closed off most of the time due to construction and renovations to the building. What happens is you know the kids are gone for the day, you slow down any way , see the 45 miles per hour sign and speed up and get slammed with a ticket for going 20 miles over the speed limit. Not exactly a fair call if you ask me.

US Highway 316 near Collins Hill Road

Cop sits in the middle of the median before a curve in the road and radars you as you travel east on 316 towards Interstate 85. He is not easily seen because he has no lights on. Also when I was being pulled over another motorist was also being pulled over in the westbound lanes. Avoid 316 if it is at all posible. The cops are well hidden and are only out to make money for the county

Collins Hill Road near Channings Lake Subdivision

There will be Lawrenceville police officers sitting in the woods on motorcycles across the street from the lake in the Channings Lake Subd.. If you are coming from the college, DO THE SPEED LIMIT. I got busted here doing 64/40. The speed limit is 40. Be careful, they are not visible.
