Lithonia, Georgia Speed Traps
Coming from I-20 on Turner Hill, between Pleasant Hill Rd. and Stephenson Rd. There is a HUGE HILL goinging toward Stephenson Rd. Police sit on both sides of the road and clock you coming down the hill on either sides. Sometimes they use motorcycles, sometimes they use cars BUT THEY ARE THERE EVERYDAY! EVERYDAY! Monday – Sunday
Police usually hide at the entrance to Cove Lake Subdivision (same as Wellborn Rd)tracking those coming from Panola Rd on a downhill ride. Usually 3-5 bikes, cars, etc.
you will be stopped for no apparent reason, especially
if you look like a good source of revenue. I Know of
several senior citizens that recieved tickets for going
a mile or two over the 25 Mile Speed Limit. Also my father
was warned because he did not count to ten at a Stop sign.
It has always been like this ! Pay Attention.
Speed limit is 45, though you usually have to do about 60 to keep up with the traffic. Police are waiting as you pull around several of the curves, where you can’t spot them. They have also been known to work with other cars, spotting you from a parking lot and having someone pull you over further up the road.
Lithonia is the mayberry of Georgia officers with bad radar units will stop and ticket you! They usual pick areas where low income and Auto shops are located..but Max Cleland Blvd or rodgers lake area are their favorites. They have sat in the graveyard at the city limits…Please BEWARE!
