Marietta, Georgia Speed Traps
Interstate 75 South Bound near North Marietta/120 Loop Parkway
I know this one will, I was a police officer for the city of marietta for several years. I-75 south bound at North Marietta Parkway. The officer will sit on the entrance ramp to Interstate 75 from North Marietta Parkway and use Lidar(Laser) on south bound traffic. This was my honey hole! slow down once you pass canton road. You will be good to pick up the speed past windy hill.
Barrett Parkway near Interstate 575
2 locations in this area both going east from I575. the first is where they are building a car wash usually a white Cobb County PD car. If he is not there than there are 2 motorcycle cops sitting on the median coming out of the Quiktrip gas station about .3 miles from first location
the posted speed is 35 but flow of traffic is around 45-50 on this 4 lane parkway
Allgood Road near Marietta Wrecker and Mexican Church
Black Cobb county PD cars as well as Marietta PD will sit in the parking lot of a church on the right side of allgood rd if you are going towards US 41(Cobb Pkwy)the speed limit is 35 mph be carefull!
powder springs Road near booth Road
A Marietta unit usually shoots radar westbound coming down the moderate hill just before Booth Road. They sit and hide at the Brownstone Entrance usually during daylight hours, but I have occasionally seen them there at night. The best thing is to invest in a decent radar detector. Mine is a Cobra that has saved me literally hundreds of times and never speed over 20 mph over the posted speed limit.
Barrett Parkway near MacLand Road
This section of Barrett Pkwy is an empty 4 lane road with a 45 mph speed posted. The crossroad (MacLand) is dangerous, has many intersections, is busy and posted at 55 mph. Everyone exceeds the speed limit on this section of Barrett. Speed trap is set up on southbound side of road just north of intersection with Macland.
