Providence Rd. East of Bethany Rd. at Bottom of Hill

Milton, GeorgiaJan 26, 20100 Comments

Police officers hide in driveways at the bottom of the hill coming from Alpharetta. You will have to ride the brake. Police like this area late at night and are aggressive about seeking arrests. They have been adding 5-7 MPH to motorist’s actual speed to get a 15+ MPH citation. This is illegal under GA law. The police car must be visible and speed detection devices are not allowed to be used on hills.

Bethany Road & Hopewell Road

Milton, GeorgiaJan 24, 20100 Comments

There is a cop that usually sits on the top of the hill toward Hopewell Road around dusk/dawn/nighttime. He will wait for your car to speed above the posted 40MPH limit from the hill you are on. When going down the hill it is difficult to see because a tree obstructs the clear view.

Make Sure to brake going down this hill, simply rolling will put your car well over 50MPH.

Deerfield Parkway near Windward Parkway

Milton, GeorgiaSep 26, 20070 Comments

Going north on Deerfield parkway away from Windward Parkway you will run into a speed trap around the first curve. The officers use a laser/binocular device. Once around the curve and going over 40mph, you will get pulled by a chase car in the area. Their location is further down and visible in the City Hall turn lane facing south.
Lately they have been hiding their car behind the sign of the townhouse complex on the right at that turn lane (across from City Hall). You crest the curve and immediately check for them in the turn lane which is visible and don’t see them, then once you go further and see them on the right… too late.
New city that formed from Unincorporated Fulton Co. parcels as of last year. They were very aggressive once the police force started in May patrolling. Have seen them up and down Deerfield in all of the turn lanes at one time or the other. Being so close to their HQ (City Hall) last place you need to be speeding.

Advice, go 40mph or lower.
