Ga400 Northbound prior to exit 7A

Roswell, GeorgiaApr 03, 20120 Comments

Usually on a Sunday morning you will see the trap just after crossing the Chattahoochee, as you round a blind righthand bend approaching the services signs for exit 7A (Norcross) you will see a cop parked with a speed gun trained on you. Beware.

Willeo to Marietta Hwy.

Roswell, GeorgiaNov 07, 20110 Comments

When you turn right onto Willeo Rd. going to towards Marietta Hwy. your basically going down a huge hill the entire way. The motorcycle cop was at the BOTTOM of the hill and shooting radar with a laser gun. He pulled me and an SUV over and wouldn’t how me my speed but claimed I was 21 over. Pretty sure you can’t sit at the bottom of a hill like that OR shoot radar on a hill with more that 7% downgrade. Total speed trap in my opinion.

Sandyplains Rd.

These are jerks, and this is a speed trap.
The problem is, these are Cobb County Police, and not Roswell Police. Sandyplains Rd. is completely in Cobb county. Just a different color jerk.

Highway 9 (Atlanta Street) about .7 miles north of Riverside

Roswell, GeorgiaJun 17, 20110 Comments

I live near here and can see the cops sitting in or near the church parking lot, catching motorists as they round the bend. As I look out my window, I can see the continuous flash of blue lights (as they stop car after car) in the strip center parking lot across the street, which is where most of the motorists pull over when they realize they’ve been busted. There is an Italian restaurant in the strip center called Amalfi, if that helps anyone… so it’s about .3 miles north of that.

Pine Grove West of Coleman

Not really a speed trap, but a DOT commercial vehicle trap. Lots of lawn guys fall prey to these RPD folks weekly. They hide on the blind spot just over the hill on Pine Grove (35 mph zone) just before Coleman. They stop any commercial vehicle going above the limit and commence to do a full DOT examination of that vehicle. It is impossible to to 35 on that down hill run. I have tested it, and even coasting from 25 mph at the top of the hill, you will reach 45 mph by the bottom.
