Sandy Springs, Georgia Speed Traps
Sandy Springs, GA is a newly fomed city which is now in need of money to fund numerous projects. They have procurrd several police cars which do little but sit out on GA400 and write tickets from hidden curves and on downhill grades. All they want is your money!
This is another money-maker for the new City of Sandy Springs. They sit on the south side of 285 just west of Roswell Road and target eastbound traffic, and sit on the north side of 285 just east of Roswell Rd to get the westbound traffic. They also sit on entrance ramps on either side of 285. Tickets are $150 for going 64 in a 55.
Not sure of the type of enforcement. They are on somewhere on this road a couple days a week. Frequency has increased since Sandy Springs incorporated.
3 units working laser at non-rush times of day, especially late night. Tickets issued have increased tenfold since Sandy Springs became a city last year.
10 – 15 police cars were lined up along the "Sandy Springs" section of 400. The officer told me the "Thanksgiving Blitz" was on and they were writing tickets for anyone going over 55 mph
