Savannah, Georgia Speed Traps
Shawnee Street (behind Savannah Mall)
Posted speed limit is 25. Road is access to movie theaters, mall and back gate of Hunter Army Airfield. Speed limit signs are not always standing and are not close to mall entrances or movie theaters. Savannah police run stings and pull over many cars at once.
Eastbound Terminus of I-16
Metro Police routinely use radar at the end of I-16 as it terminates downhill to the Liberty Street red light. A patrol car will park perpendicular to eastbound traffic next to a hotel shooting uphill. The speed limit is a mere 35 mph as downhill traffic negotiates the interchange funnel. It’s just one more reason Savannah is known as "The Hostess City of the South".
