South Cobb Drive near King Springs Road

Smyrna, GeorgiaMay 24, 20070 Comments

The Smyrna city police take up position at the intersection of South Cobb Dr. (which is a roaring 4-lane, btw) and King Springs Rd. They laser the northbound traffic, getting people who are coasting down the hill, and pulling them when they get up the hill to their position. They are also pulling people for violating ridiculously-marked gores, and for rolling stops at stop signs.

Officers will park on the NB side, near the QT gas station, generally during PM rush. They will also park on the SB side a little farther south, during the AM rush.

The Smyrna PD heavily enforce the school zone for Campbell Middle School, but you should be slowing down anyway during the heavy morning and afternoon periods.

Windy Hill Parkway near Windy Hill Road

Police Patrol Windy Hill Parkway from Intersection of South Cobb Dr. Trap point is across from the Golf Course–police hide under a tree stationary and shoot with Laser Binoculars…Motorcycles are parked under a tree, they flash the siren and lights then a cop walks out on the highway and points at the car and signals you over to a pull off turn lane. It is a 45 mph Zone but Windy Hill is a four lane divided highway on this stretch and it is easy to go 50 or 60–a definite money trap.

seat belt – stop sign Smyrna police does not PLAY! They love sitting at this intersection. You can see 5 to 6 motorcycles and patrol cars on any given day at this location. I have recieved 2 tickets here and both came at the same time. There was also 6 other violators pulled in the parking lot with me. The cops will stand on the hill or at the corner hiding in the bushes and will jump out and tag you if not carful. I have never seen a more secure city on the Southside, i just hope the rest of the city is as secure.
