North Main between E.Parrish St. intersection and Debbie Dr.

Statesboro, GeorgiaJun 26, 20180 Comments

City police will set up a road block just beyond the 35 MPH speed limit which is impossible for you to slow your speed to required speed limit. If you are entering N. Main from E. Parrish Street you will not see the speed limit sign until your are 20 feet from it. The police road block doesn’t give you space between the sign and the road block to come in compliance with the speed limit sign which is the first sign you see when you enter N. Main from East Parrish Street.

The police do write speeding tickets but you have to be over the limit by more than 10MPH and most of the time 15MPH. In town this seems more than generous.

Lovett Road

The 35 mph zone quickly changes to a 25 mph zone on a downhill slope. Cops like to hide on the well-obscured unpaved entrance to the plaza on the right at the end of Lovett. Stay alert.

Police like to sit in the parking lot near Hanner Fieldhouse and clock cars going by. Speed limit drops to 35 quickly. Be aware!
