Sylvester, Georgia Speed Traps
Strip of GA 300 in Worth County
Writing tickets for speeding and stops at intersection of GA 300 and GA 32. Saw spotter checking for out of state plates before I reached intersection. Stopped behind vehicle at intersection. Waited for him to cross, pulled up and stopped again. Proceeded about a quarter mile and police car comes from opposite direction over hill and around a blind curve, I- turns at intersection pulls me over and write citation for “rolling stop” which officer could not have seen even were it true. Over next four miles saw four out of state vehicles pulled over. Speeds on strip this four lane highway change about five times ranging from 45 to 60 mph.
GA Hwy 300
Goes 55 to 65 back to 55 down to 45. If a vehicle hinders the one sign going back down to 55, usually the sheriff is sitting waiting, you will be ticketed. It is a very short distance at 65 before going back to 55. There is also a stretch with a 45 zone that just don’t make sense between I-75 and Albany.
US Highway 520/82South near Madison St./Sylvester
Speed drops from 65MPH to 35MPH with little or no notice. Highway is highly traveled from west Ga. to I-75 /to Fl. City policeman asked if I wanted the radar "checked". He went back to the car, came back and said it’s correct. When I asked to see the results he refused stating,it’s for the safety of the officer that you can’t go to the car. My court date is 7/12/05. It should be interesting.
Hwy 33 north to county line
Nice road, some take it to be scenic. Also many visitors from Ohio recived tickets every time they traveled it.
Hwy 33 North, between Sylvester and Crisp County Line
Very rural area, light traffic, mostly wooded area Very good smooth asphalt road, easy to exceed posted 55 mph speed. A favorite for easy ticket quota’s.
