Winder, Georgia Speed Traps

There are several railroad tracks where you have to slow down or stop at a stop sign at Pearl Pentecost Rd. But if you increase your speed between railroad tracks, where the speed limit is 35, they are hidden somewhere and will stop you. They turn on the siren plus lights and you won’t know if they are going to an emergency or after you until they stop behind you. Several people have been stopped on this road.

Cop sits down in a valley just West of Sims Rd. on Hwy 53. Another sits across the road and they tag team who goes after the speeders. It’s an easy place to go over the speed limit. Be careful!

On 316 heading east just past Patrick Mill Road at the bottom of the hill. There is a spot on the right just behind a guard rail. You cannot see them when you are coming down the hill until it is too late. I have seen a Barrow county cop there several times. It almost looks like the spot where they sit was graded for this purpose.

Center Median hidden by incline officers sit in median and just past highway 11 on 316 they sit to the side obstructed by trees just before Harry McCarthy Rd.
