H-1 ewa bound as you pass the Ala Kapuna Street overpass (top of Red Hill)the highway will go downhill and into a left hand bend. A solo bike is parked on the left shoulder in that bend usually at night. Speed limit is 50 mph in that area but since that section of the highway is at a downhill slope, it is very easy go faster. Watch your speed as you approach the Ala Kapuna street overpass (top of Red Hill) and on your way down.

H-1 town bound and ewa bound as you pass through Aiea/Halawa. There are usually two solo bikes parked on the left shoulder of the H-1 beneath the Kahuapaani Street (Halawa Heights Road)overpass. They’re usually there between the hours of 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. any day of the week. Occasionally you can also find them there during the daylight hours. Speed limit on the H-1 in that area is 50 mph but you can easily go over that without noticing. Be careful and watch your speed in that area.

Ulune Street near Puala`a Street

Police are posted in either (Eastbound/Westbound) direction about once a month. Hawaii speed limits are set notoriously low, and this residential area is posted at 35, but most people (easily) do 45-50. As most of the road is curvy, you can’t usually see them until you’re caught.
