E. Myrtle Street near S. Avenue A Avenue

Boise, IdahoJul 06, 20080 Comments

E. Myrtle is a major, multi-lane, eastbound, one-way thoroughfare in downtown Boise (just south of E. Front Street, on which the Ada County Courthouse is situated [where municipal, county, and state traffic tickets, etc., are tried]).

Police in cars or motorcycles regularly situate themselves partially obscured on the east side of a private building on private property just east of S. Avenue A, often (always?) using lidar to pick off drivers exceeding an unrealistically low 35 MPH limit.

Maplegrove Road near Interstate 84

Boise, IdahoJun 30, 20080 Comments

Heading north on Maplegrove after heading down from the over pass, on the east side of Maplegrove by the storage units under the pine trees, there hides a Motor cop ready to pull you over.

Maple Grove Road near Franklin Road

Boise, IdahoMay 13, 20080 Comments

Radar is set for traffic traveling north over the freeway overpass. Patrol car sits on the east side of Maple Grove and is generally visible if you know where to look. Minor excess over posted speed is okay but watch it carefully.

Fairview Avenue near Orchard Street

Boise, IdahoApr 29, 20080 Comments

Coming up (west) on Fairview from downtown, they will sit there either in Rockies parking lot or the little street next to it. It’s easy to end up hitting that 35mph zone going too fast coming up and off the connector. I’ve been caught twice there.

Americana Boulevard near Latah Street

Boise, IdahoMar 03, 20080 Comments

Going up/down Americana Blvd passing the two parks Albertsons Anne Morrison and as it rounds the corner turns to Emerald St passing Latah to the left if your headed up. The bike cops like to set up shop there at the top just 25 feet before the traffic light the sun sets in that direction and its hard to see them its especially bad in the evening commute.
