SH 44 State St Construction Between Old State St and Linder

Eagle, IdahoJul 08, 20130 Comments

There are always multiple cops (both ISP and Ada County) that like to catch people speeding through the construction zone at night. The construction zone speed limit is 40 MPH and I always see at least one person pulled over each time I drive through there at night. They assume since there’s no construction crews at night it doesn’t matter, so they drive the regular 55 MPH. Mistakes were made! Cops are usually parked on the shoulder near Linder or Shady Acres with their lights off.

State Street

Watch out on State Street in between Eagle Rd. and Ballentyne Rd. Ada County Sherrifs on motorcyles like to sit on the greenbelt along the river just as the highway curves, where the green belt dips down a bit, hidden by a birm and wait for kids leaving

State Highway 44 near Highway 55/Horseshoe Bend Rd

I am a daily commuter on State St WB to Eagle Rd SB. Ada County Sheriff patrols this stretch heavily. They do not sit and radar, they are In traffic, usually from HW55 or on State St. (State Street/ HW44) itself. They do not always monitor for speed but monitor Excessively for "agressive driving". I have been pulled over 3 times. I do drive a sports car. The reason given for all 3 times were for not signaling when I make a lane change. I got each dismissed in court because the officers’ language at the time of stop "I am pretty sure you did not use your signal back there" and "I was traveling 80 mph to catch up with you for illegally changing lanes" but when asked if had me on radar, said he did not. It was the same officer twice.

My radar detector has picked up radar, laser, and vascar frequencies.

Motorists headed SB on N. Eagle Rd will come over a slight hill where the traffic quickly drops from 35mph to 25mph. Speed limit is enforced 24/7 when only School time is appropriate. Not a school zone speed, but enforced at the lower speed 24/7 365 days.
