Fruitland, Idaho Speed Traps

Heading up Whitley Dr/Hwy 95 from the south, you will encounter three speed cables. First one just as you enter city limits where speed limit drops from 55 to 45. Second one is right next to Maverik, speed limit is still 45, but shortly after that, speed drops to 35 and another cable has “conveniently” been placed here. I’m sure there are more coming. Watch your speed no matter where you are in this town! The police here are your typical state line town police department; out to bust drug dogs, always in pairs, and just plain rude. I’m lucky to not have been nailed by these guys yet but seriously heed this warning. The cops are changing this town to carry their favor! Also watch for Payette County Sheriff and ISP.

The speed limit decreases only serve to speed trap. ISP will sit in the Idaho Motor Pool entrance out of sight and target out of staters here as it is close to the Oregon border, but they will gladly ticket Idahoans as well. Whether you’re coming from Parma or New Plymouth, don’t speed through this 35 MPH zone. If you just turned from US-30, don’t speed up to 55 until you are past the sign. I made the turn from New Plymouth one day and was nailed at 45.
