New Meadows, Idaho Speed Traps
No Traffic and we stopped at the intersection of 95 and 55 for the left turn to Hwy 55 and McCall. We pulled straight ahead on S. Norris Ave to check our map and the deputy was on our right on Norris blocking our view of the 15mph speed sign on Norris. We pulled onto Norris at about 24 mph, did a U turn on Norris, stopped again and turned right onto 55. The Deputy Sheriff then followed us for almost a mile on 55 before turning on his lights. After commenting nicely on my unique leveling bubbles for the camper he told us he had a letter from the city telling him to write more tickets. He then sited me for 24 in a 15 zone on Norris. I drove back to New Meadows to confirm his parking place while he continued his hunt for suckers. $90 gone and we will never go through New Meadows again and we travel to Idaho quite frequently to visit relatives. Other routes are available. No more gas or dinners in New Meadows folks!
Be sure to slow down when you come into town. The law sits just out of sight right after the 25 mph sign.
They also wait just inside of town, coming in from Hwy 95. They hide at the diner behind the rock pile.
