Cairo city police officer hides in median and says that he uses radar; however, this was not detected on a radar detector with jammer. A fine of $75 is the usual although the city police do not have jurisdiction on the Interstate. A lawyer costs $150 to $300 to fight the ticket.
Approach to bridges over Ohio River, Mississippi River, US Highways
25 MPH posting obscured by trees. No buildings for 2-4 miles. You need to slow down to go on the old bridges, but instead of warning you about that, they ticket you.
3.5 Miles into Illinois; Northbound on I-57
This is a well practiced operation. Two officers in light blue cars, both pulling over two cars at once. Actually witnessed officers exchanging hand signals and communicating between themselves, directing which cars to pull over. GO SLOW THAT FIRST 30 MILES INTO IL. These guys more than pay for their salaries.
