Cambridge, Illinois Speed Traps

The village of Cambridge contracts with the Henry County Sheriff’s department to provide officers to partol the village. As such, their jurisdiction extends beyond city limits. These officers are encouraged by the village police commissioner to patrol 3 to 4 miles outside of city limits on the surrounding State Highways (81 and 82) to enhance revenues for the village. Officers have exibited levels of tolerence by issuing written or verbal wanings, but citations will be issued when deserved. Afternoon and evening partols are manned. No morning or midday officers on duty other than normal County and State partols.
