Three Oaks Road near Georgetown Road

Cary, IllinoisAug 16, 20060 Comments

The speed limit on Three Oaks Road is 35mph. Going East in the early am to the train station I ALWAYS pass an officer with his car lights blacked out monitoring traffic on three oaks road. He will sit around the intersection of Georgetown and Three Oaks Road. I see at least 3 people a week pulled over at the speed trap. I normally go through this area around 4am to 430am monday through friday.

US Highway Route 14 Northwest Highway near Spring Beach Way

Cary, IllinoisFeb 08, 20060 Comments

Spring Beach Way is on the North side of Rt 14 and across from this intersection is a Kitchen store. There is a fence that seperates the kitchen store parking lot from another nearby parking lot just west of the kitchen store. The cops sit on the west side of the fence facing the northwest. This allows them to shoot the traffic going southeast towards Fox River Grove. It’s very hard to see them at night, and the speed limit should really be 45 mph here. At night they sit on the southwest side of the kitchen store, by the loading dock, shooting people traveling from Fox River Grove into Cary. It’s hard to see them when crossing the bridge and the tendancy is to increase speed right after crossing the bridge and exiting Fox River Grove.

Cary-Algonquin Road near Fire Station

Cary, IllinoisFeb 01, 20060 Comments

The police will sit at the far end of the fire station behind some bushes and almost against the buliding. They can catch you going both ways and they can also catch you speeding down Industrial Drive because where they sit, they can perfectly see you coming.

Industrial Drive

Police sit behine the building blocked out by a dumpster. They monitor the hill coming into the industrial park off of Georgetown by the park. From here they can monitor both Eastbound and Westbound. They recently redeveloped the whole area over there and made it park land and lowered the speed limits to 25 mph (I think that is the whole reason for the redevelopment to increase income through speeding tickets). You have to ride the brakes coming down the hill to maintain that speed.

Also as you enter into the city of Cary there is a tiny sign with tiny writing on it that says all speed limits are 25 unless otherwise posted. Then you don’t see any speed postings anywhere it seems. So is it 25 or 30 as it was before you come into the city?

West Main Street near Briargate Street

Cary, IllinoisApr 02, 20050 Comments

Cop car is parked in the u-shaped drive in front of an apartment complex on the south side of West Main. Great location for scanning west bound traffic and hard to see if going east bound. Nice shrub to hide behind.
