Crainville, Illinois Speed Traps
IL 13/Wolf Creek Rd exit
IDOT recently updated IL 13 between Carterville and Herrin to basically freeway standards, adding an exit to the fast growing suburban area off of Wolf Creek Road. State cops love to perch themselves at the top of the eastbound exit ramp, which are impossible to see from the other side of the bridge and only visible in your rear view mirror until it’s too late. It’s a very nice and wide 6 lane road, usually way too many lanes for the amount of traffic, and the speed limit is still only 55 MPH. Was ticketed there in October for going 64 in the 55. Over a $300 mistake in the end. Passing by this intersection, it is clear the ISP uses this well traveled route as a big money maker, as there is usually someone pulled over.
