The speed limit goes from 35 to 40 but it doesn’t happen till around Wal-mart so if you speed up by Road Ranger they like to catch you around there. Especially if you tend to go 5 – 8 over the limit.
They usually sit in the lumber parking lot or in one of the parking lot’s along Sycamore Road or in the Country Clubs driveway.

Southbound on Route 23 Near Hillcrest
The DeKalb City Police has a generous government grant to pay officers overtime for people caught going down from the 40 miles per hour just North of Jewel on Sycamore Road to 25 miles per hour when Route 23 becomes 7th Street. They pay officers generous overtime to police this spot, as well as Illinois State Police Troopers, by city Attorney Norma Guess’s own admission
Annie Glidden Road near Between Hillcrest and Lucinda
A cop hides behind the big grey generator off of Annie Glidden Rd in between Hillcrest and Lucinda. This is also at the bottom of the hill. The speed limit is 30.
