Des Plaines, Illinois Speed Traps

The police sit on the west side of 83 across from the Stadium Bar and Grill. Two jurisdictions exist–Mt.Prospect and Des Plaines police both patrol North and South bound traffic.

Under cover and marked cars are frequently seen sitting on the side streets with a radar. They have been seen between Oakton & Rand Road.

Route 14 nw highway between Mt prospect rd and downtown desplaines. Sign going southbound 30 mph is always turned so motorist cannot view it. speed reduces from 40 to 30 police hide anyhere pass the reduction zone and nail people norht or south bound

I live in the area and have seen both marked and unmarked police cars sit in the parking lot behind the church on the corner – looking for either east or west bound traffic. They will either stop you for speeding or for rolling through the stop sign.

Between Oakton Community College and the 294 bridge, In the last three months have seen a trap 10 times. Its common for the traffic to be doing 55 or 60 on this street with the speed limit 45, watch out.
