State Route 17 near Interstate 55
Going through Dwight on Rt. 17, cops will sit at various places all through town from Interstate 55 to the mini storage building past Rt. 47. I have seen them at the Napa auto supply store parking lot, in the old gas station next to Dairy Queen, in the St. Pat’s Parish Hall parking lot, and I got a ticket from the one sitting in the Mini Storage parking lot. I had my cruise set at 65 and the speed limit is 55. He claims I was going 72 but I was coming up to the 30mph sign so I was already braking but he claims I was braking because I saw him. I actually never saw him.
Route 17 near Dairy Queen
The Dwight police love to pull you over for anything like squealing tires, tinted windsheilds, etc. They pull into the old gas station next to Dairy Queen and just wait. I’ve seen them there several times on my way to and from work.
