Elgin, Illinois Speed Traps

A police officer will have a vehicle parked on Randall road (which is an overpass) shooting radar down onto Rte 20. there will be between 3 and 5 chase cars parked on the side of Rte. 20 that pull people over after passing through the radar trap. The car on the bridge varies. They have used mini-vans and Jeep wranglers. These cars are completely unmarked including regular license plates. This wolf pack has been known to hold contests over who writes the most tickets. Whats up with this?

The city of Elgin has 3 completely unmarked squad cars. Even the license plates are regular plates. The cars are Dodge Intrepids and are either red, white, or green. These cars will park on the sides of the road with their hoods up to look like a stranded motorist when they are actually shooting radar and notifying a chase car up ahead.

One officer standing at intersection of Davis Road and Rt. 31 using laser. Looks like a pedestrian. Five squads just south of his position making stops in rotation. A real production line. I’ve never seen anything like this before.
