California Avenue near 95th to 87th Street

Evergreen Park, IllinoisAug 03, 20070 Comments

20 MPH is difficult to hold on California Avenue, especially with the wide open golf course next to you. The school at 91st street is probably the main reason, but E.P. does seem to like it’s 20 MPH rules! The police like to sit, out of sight, in the parking lot of the convent North of the hospital at 94th Street and catch traffic heading South. Evergreen golf course is on your left, if you are heading South, from 91st street toward 95th.

California Street near 95th Street

All along California between 95th street (Little Company of Mary Hospital)and 87th street or so. The speed limit is 20MPH and the police will pull over anoyone going over 20MPH. Most of the cops patrolling the area do have an attitude towards you. Do not pass anyone going 20MPH on that street, because if there is a cop there you will get pulled over. They use both marked and unmarked cars( grey and black)

One sure hiding spot for them is in the lot area of the LCMH Sister’s convent north of the LCMH parking lot.

95th Street near Kedzie Road

Evergreen Park, IllinoisJul 25, 20060 Comments

Not so much a speed trap, but similar. Heading westbound on 95th street, one hits road construction around Kedzie. Be careful which streets you take to avoid it. Some of the side streets are currently one way, and the cop I had deliberately parked his car in front of the barricade to prevent me from seeing the sign on it. The streets aren’t ordinarily one-way, so there are no other markers- be careful!
