Goodfield, Illinois Speed Traps
The speed limit begins at 35 and then progresses to 50. Just when you think you’re out of town in the country, your not and you will be stopped. The local cop constantly hides in this area giving out speeding tickets. Do not stop at any Goodfield business. Stay away.
Look out for the local Goodfield cop, he sits on both side of the I74 overpass with his lights out, giving out tickets! It’s posted at 35mph from in town all the way south over the overpass. I travel through there all the time and there is almost always someone getting ticketed.
I would suggest we boycott the businesses in Goodfield. Then maybe they will do something about this cop that only knows how to fine potential customer of Goodfield business!
If you go to the dinner theatre, make sure you make a complete stop at the stop sign as you leave and as you turn onto 117 it is a 50mph limit there, not 55 even though you are in the country. Goodfield police are lurkers that prey on that intersection and stretch of 117.
Leaving Goodfield toward Eureka 35mph to 50mph past sub station goes to 55mph. They will ticket any of this part of State Route 117.
Copper likes to sit in the CNH plant’s parking lot and get people before it goes to 55mph just before the hill.
