Goreville, Illinois Speed Traps

Interstate 24 between mile markers 6 and 7. There is a road connecting the west and eastbound lanes where Illinois State Police units will hide and use radar on either lane.

Take caution in this stretch of I-24. I’ve seen up to 7 state patrol cars at one time in the area of the Goreville/Tunnel Hill exit on I-24. Usually they will sit in a group just over a rise or behind and overpass where they will catch motorists by surprise, or they will sit in the wide forested median between the lanes.
