Hillsdale, Illinois Speed Traps

State police like to sit on the Port Byron Hillsdale Road overpass on the wrong side of the road, pointing their rader east towards Chicago. If you are speeding when you come within range of the Port-Byron Hillsdale Road, there will be several squad cars lined up on the West Bound ramp (towards the Quad Cities). As you move past the Port Byron Hillsdale Road, you’ll see many squad cars with many speeders pulled over.

Police have been known to claim false readings on radar. Prey on out of town drivers. Seem to be "in bed" with court in nearby city where cases are taken. Seem to work most often at dusk and into the late night.
