Hoffman Estates, Illinois Speed Traps

Cops will sit on Charlemagne Dr. with radar clocking cars passing on Huntington/Freeman. The speed limit of 25mph is strictly enforced on Huntington/Freeman. It is very easy to get a ticket here because the speed limit changes from 35mph on Huntington to 25mph at the Mobile Gas station at the intersection of Algonquin and Huntington. People are still in the 35mph frame of mind when the speed limit changes and that is where they get you before you have a chance to brake and slow down. They will enforce the seat belt law too.

On Bartlett Road heading either north or south between the intersections of Golf Rd (58) and Higgins Rd (72) there are hilly stretches of road. The police like to hide in the valleys on the west side of the road or in the medians. Happens a lot.

On the north side of Algonquin Rd (Rt. 62), west of Lexington (which is 2 stoplights west of Ela, and where there is a Hoffman Estates Park District) and east of Huntington/Freeman, there is a hidden access drive just west of the small subdivision of Windemere. They sit in there. Sometimes they also sit in the median at the top of a rise in the same general area, or I’ve seen them on the south side of the road by the forest preserves.

The cop either sits on the median (facing west) at that intersection or on Greenspoint facing North waiting for speeders going down 72. They will let you go for even 14 over so the people that get pulled over at this place usually deserve it.

They’re there to fill up gas so be warned- if u do something too crazy they can always get gas a little later.
