Jim Dahmer Drive near State Route Route 47

Huntley, IllinoisOct 01, 20080 Comments

Officer sits on George Bush Ct (essentially a dead-end driveway leading to the parking lot of Rohrer Corporation) where it intersects with Jim Dahmer Drive. He basically hides behind the shrubbery at the edge of the company parking lot. Sometimes they will also park in the median strip of Jim Dahmer Drive near the entrance to Rohrer, facing east. Often there on Wednesday mornings, seldom in the evenings. Dahmer Drive was recently extended to connect with the back end of the Sun City subdivision. The street currently has only 2 businesses on it–no parks, schools, playgrounds, or pedestrian traffic of any kind. Most of it is empty land until you reach the edge of Sun City. No reason I can see for the low speed limit except a speed trap. None of the locals will use it because of that. The sad part is most drivers avoid using Dahmer Dr. by turning down Country View (which parallels Dahmer) and going right through Sun City, exiting at the main entrance on 47. Gee, just what Sun City residents want–more traffic through their subdivision. If the logic on this one escapes you, you’re not alone.

Huntley, IllinoisNov 15, 20050 Comments

Officers will sit over the hill leaving town and radar you right as you leave the town limit right past the entrance to the High school. Especially at night when visibility is low. Almost always present in the last 3-5 days of the month at night.
