Johnsburg, Illinois Speed Traps

Squad sits facing east at the corner on Salem at Chapel Hill. Watches the Stop Lights at Bay Road and Chapel Hill. Can’t see the squad until you get just North of Bay Road. He been in this location a number of times during the day.

Squad car sits facing Johnsburg Rd in the fire station lot. In the late afternoon rush hour. They are watching traffic coming from the north. I’ve been there numerous times now. They try to catch you speeding into the 30 zone.

As you are heading south on Spring Grove Rd., the limit is 50 mph until you get near Johnsburg Rd. Then the limit drops to 30 mph for a short stretch. This is all downhill so it is easy to keep a high mph. I passed a police car halfway down the hill, parked in someone’s driveway! Keep your foot covering the brake.

You can’t see the squad car until you are actually passing the parking lot so when you come up the hill from either side stay doing 45mph. I see them there ALOT!

Johnsburg police officers sit on the road next to the old Raymond’s Bowling ally. They are even more watchful now that there is construction going on just beyond this speed trap. Watch your speed and careful as you cross the bridge. That’s where they start the radar.
