Lake Forest, Illinois Speed Traps
Ridge Road near State Route 60
Between Rt. 60 and Deerpath Road. Sits in a driveway, speed limit posted is 25 mph and they nail anyone going over.
Westleigh Road near Greenbay Road
Police heavily patrol this 35mph street, heading east from US41 and up to Greenbay Road. There are several public roads that they like to sit in, particularly past the bridge on the right side, often sitting back 100 feet or more to really aid in hiding. Do not go over 40 on Westleigh, no local in their right mind does either.
State Route 60 Kennedy Rd near Lake Forest Academy and the LF water tower
Late at night, when traffic is sparse, there’s often a Lake Forest cop sitting right by the entrance to the water tower driveway (right by the railroad tracks, about near Lake Forest Academy); also be aware that they’re sometimes positioned in the Route 60 median by Brunswick. Basically, be extra careful between I-94 tollway and Waukegan Road.
Everett Road near Interstate 94
Heading east on Everett Road, as you go over the Interstate, the speed limit drops from 50 to 35. The patrol car usually sits in the intersection with Conway Farms about 1 block east on the north side of the road.
State Highway 41 near State Route 176
Squad is parked in the Knauz autopark entrance. Cop gets lined up perfectly with the other cars in the lot so its hard to discern between their car and the rest. They fire into the curve so radar detection is diminished, if you are traveling north and your radar chirps, slow down!
