Oak Spring Road near Lake Minear

Libertyville, IllinoisAug 18, 20070 Comments

Cops will sit in a turnaround right near Lake Minear. The speed limit drops from 40 to either 30 or 25 right at the lake (completely unnecessarily) and cops sit there all the time and gun people down.

Oak Spring Road near Appley Road

Libertyville, IllinoisAug 13, 20070 Comments

Often a cop hides on the side of the road across from Lake Minear. The speed limit is a ridiculously slow 25 MPH, which is easy to exceed. Slow down and watch for police each time you pass through.

Butterfield Road near Lake Street

Libertyville, IllinoisJul 01, 20070 Comments

At the near north side of Butterfield Road right across from Pine Meadow Golf Course the Libertyville Police Department sit right at the cross street at Lake Street. It is very easy to be going 10 – 15 MPH over the limit and they will nail you. They are there almost any time of day.

Milwaukee Avenue near 176 Road

Libertyville, IllinoisApr 03, 20071 Comments

Traveling West on 176 just before you get to the Milwaukee avenue, if you try to get into the left turn lane prior to the lane markings there is always a cop sitting in the parking lot behind the vacant gas station on the SE corner. I see them pull people over multiple times a week.

US Highway 45 near Winchester Road

Libertyville, IllinoisApr 29, 20040 Comments

Recently lowered speed limit to 45 MPH. This reduction hasn’t shown an increase in police activity but there is a Libertyville Cop on the west side of US45 either right next to the train tracks south of Winchester Rd. or north of it by a small pond. Right next to the tracks, if you’re going southboud on 45 you can’t see the cop, it is obscured by tall grass. I saw a cop on a hill by a small pond north of Winchester Rd. I rarely see anyone pulled over and I drive this road everyday, but still watch out the police activity is consistant.
