1st Avenue near North Avenue
When driving either northbound or southbound on 1st avenue, between North ave. and Chicago ave. there are a long row of apartment buildings on the west side of the street. Cops usually like to sit on the side streets between the apartment buildings, or in the parking lots of the apartments. On the south end of the apartment buildings before you hit the river, a unmarked Melrose Park poilce car will sit facing northboud, you can’t see him untill you are right next to it. And on the North end of the apartments before the racetrack, there is a dumpster running parrallel to 1st ave, the cop likes to sit behind the dumpster facing north or south, depending on which lane of traffic he’s going for. The speed limit is 35mph there, I have been pulled over there for doing 38mph, they are really strict there. They are usually there between late afternoon, after rush hour, till 2 or 3am, with occasional breaks here and there.
