Morris, Illinois Speed Traps

Squad car sits in the lot running radar at the southbound traffic. They will sit there in the mid morning, late afternoon and early evening. Hard to see them because they sit back far enough and you don’t see the squad until you are right on them. This is the street after going over the overpass. A lot of people speed over the bridge and blow the yellow light at the bottom and get the radar squad a half block later.

Just about across from the BP gas station on Rt. 47 & Southmor road is a side street where there ia a small county storage/public works building, they sit back in there and run radar quite frequently. You won’t see them until you are on top of them. This would be south of Southmor road about 1 block, 45 mile zone, watch your speed through there.

Going north on Rt. 47 just over the overpass in the Dairy Queen parking lot usually will sit an SUV or squad car, always marked. Just keep it at 35 mph.

Officer Friendly likes to hide in the john deere dealership IN BETWEEN THE TRACTORS! Watch for the striped and plated john deere in parking lot.

illinois state police in various numbers set up in both directions in construction area and use unmarked with lidar to cruise with traffic to clock you..you get your greeting exiting the constuction area…motorcyles beware too!!it’s a 55 speed limit even without workers present!!
