Naperville, Illinois Speed Traps
Northbound travel on Naper Blvd observed an unmarked Dodge Charger Wagon using laser technology at Jane Ave, just south of the Apartment Complex. The Dodge appears to be stopped at the STOP sign waiting to merge into traffic. The chase car, a police patrol unit waiting patiently behind the Dodge, is immediately dispatched to ticket the unsuspecting vehicle traveling in excess of the posted speed. Speed limit is 35 MPH. Observed March 15, 845 am. On my southbound return trip at 920 am, observed patrol car with lights blaring, pulled over behind a lady in a Volvo. Dodge still parked, hunting.
Police cars like to setup in the parking lot for the Fire Dpt building on the north east corner of Naper and Bailey. This hides the cop from north bound traffic as the traffic descends the slight hill at the Bailey and Naper intersection. Cop is there mostly during the evening rush hour. Watch your speed as you approach Bailey.
Unmarked car waits, facing South, in parking lot entrance to Jehovah’s Witnesses Freedom Hall.
Officer on foot using hand-held laser stands on train platform facing northbound traffic as it approaches the underpass. Units wait on 5th Ave. to pull over unsuspecting speeders.
Motorcycle parked in the middle of street just past an under pass. Major downtown street with 25 mile speed limit which was formerly 35 mph.
